Case Study

Concept Development

I began by researching The Frist Art Museum’s past exhibitions and branding to understand its tone. I choose The Shadows and Loops exhibition to design this gala project because I was drawn to the messy and harmonic tones of the work. I wanted to design be elegant and understated to contrast the bold art work.

Narrative & Advocacy

Beyond design aesthetics, the campaign advocates for why supporting the arts matters. The gala’s message centers around how creativity helps us see and understand the unseen. Through the event materials, I wanted patrons to feel that by supporting The Frist, they are sustaining the cultural spaces that allow these conversations to happen.

Final Outcome

The resulting visual identity transforms a typical gala invitation into an extension of the exhibition experience. The cohesive system connects design and meaning, turning every element into part of the overarching story of the Frist.

TAKEAWAYS

This project taught me how to say a lot in under 10 seconds. It also strengthened my approach to storytelling through contrast building tension through visuals and tone.
